Privacy policy

Joint Replacements is operated by Scout Theory LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Questions go to andy@colombiamedical.co.
What we collect
- Information you give us. Name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, location, and the details you enter in our contact form — which may include health-related information such as which joint is affected, what you have been told by a clinician, and whether you have imaging.
- Automatically collected data. Via Google Analytics 4: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, referring site, and time on page. IP addresses are anonymized by Google Analytics before storage.
- What we do not collect. We do not ask for or want your Social Security number, government ID, insurance member ID, financial account details, or copies of medical records through this website's forms.
Health information — read this part
If you tell us about your condition, we treat that as sensitive. We are not a covered entity under HIPAA, which means HIPAA's protections do not attach to information you send us. Please do not send full medical records, operative reports, or imaging files through the website contact form. If your enquiry progresses to the point where a surgeon needs to review imaging, we will tell you how to transmit it securely and directly.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the cost information you asked for
- To connect you, with your knowledge, to a clinic or surgeon if you ask us to
- To understand which pages are useful and improve them
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third-party advertisers or data brokers.
Who we share it with
Only where necessary to do what you asked: the specific healthcare provider you have asked us to contact on your behalf, and our service providers (Google for analytics and form processing, our email and messaging providers, our hosting provider). We may also disclose information if required by law.
Colombian data protection
We operate from Colombia, which means Law 1581 of 2012 (Habeas Data) applies to processing carried out here. Under it you have the right to know, update, and rectify your personal data; to request proof of the authorization you gave; to be informed about how your data is used; to complain to the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio; and to revoke your authorization and request deletion. By submitting our form you authorize processing for the purposes described above.
Your rights elsewhere
If you are in the EU or UK, GDPR and UK GDPR give you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale — and again, we do not sell personal information. Exercise any of these by emailing andy@colombiamedical.co. We will respond within 30 days.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 with anonymized IP collection. You can opt out via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by using your browser's tracking protection. Blocking analytics does not break anything on this site.
Retention
Enquiry data is kept for as long as needed to help you, and up to 24 months afterward for follow-up. Request earlier deletion at any time and we will comply unless we have a legal obligation to retain it.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
One vertical of a larger research project
Joint Replacements is the orthopedic arm of a Colombia-focused medical travel network. Same standards, same person behind it, different procedure.
